The EnAccord String Quartet was
founded in 1998 and has ever since developed into one of the most appraised
young quartets of the Netherlands. The quartet is praised for its intimate,
warm sound, expressive style and dynamic capability.
The quartet has mastered a superb
string quartet repertoire, combines famous pieces with masterpieces that are
less well known, likes to work together with contemporary composers and has
already premiered with a number of compositions. The quartet has extensive
concert experience and regularly performs at home and abroad.
The EnAccord String Quartet is the
only quartet in The Netherlands that was to receive public acknowledgement
twice by the renowned Kersjes Fonds – in 2008 they were awarded a grant for
young talents, and they received the prestigious Kersjes Award in 2010. The
quartet won several international awards, among which were the second price at
the ‘5th Trondheim
International Chamber Music Competition’ and the third price at the
‘Internationaler Joseph Haydn Wettbewerb’.
